THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A COCK & LOCK AND A CAM-LOCK

The "Cock & Lock" is a unique concept in applying friction to the throttle grip. The area that friction is applied is on the chrome/plastic trim ring at the forward end of the grip. The device is machined slightly SMALLER than the largest diameter of this trim ring - so -
If the "Cock & Lock" were pushed evenly/uniformly forward, it would not fit over this diameter, but, if pushed forward (toward the headlight) with just the thumb - at a position on the device @ half way between the start button and the kill switch, the device "cocks" over at a slight angle and captures only part of the large diameter where friction occurs. To ‘uncock’/disengage - merely pull back (towards the bar end) with the ball of your thumb on the opposite side of the device. The "Cock & Lock" is the easiest (of any out there) to install as it requires no removals or modifications to the bike. The ‘downside’ is that, due to some inconsistencies in O.E.M. parts, the "Cock & Lock" will not accommodate about 10% of the motorcycles for which it was designed. Also, it will not work with most aftermarket grips.

The "Cam-Lock" is a more conventional design but still does not look like an after-thought ‘add-on’. It will accommodate most aftermarket grips and is adjustable for the amount of friction that works best for you. The ‘downside’ is that the rubber grip must be removed from the throttle sleeve for installation. This is ‘no big deal’ with the instructions provided. As for a recommendation, you may want to check with your M/C Model’s website Tech Board as many owners have written up unsolicited praise for both the "Cock & Lock" and the "Cam-Lock".
